Hi we are the 4th Peer Teaching Group( Alicia, May and Shivam). We presented the topic "Designing Surveys Questions: Questionnaires and Interviews" to our classmates. Also we played a GAME with chocolates as prizes. We hope we contributed to assist you all regarding designing survey questions and common mistakes that we make. Kindly post your comment for our PEER TEACHING PRESENTATION in class.

Thanks.

  1. Hi Shivam, Alicia and May!

    I enjoyed your peer teaching lesson thoroughly. The content was pretty detailed, but yet was able to sustain attention. The class interaction in the form of the game was simple, and yet had a special touch that drew enthusiasm from the class.

    Individually, what I remembered was that the pacing of the speakers were good, exuding much confidence. Shivam, perhaps you were a bit nervous at the start and slightly too fast, but eventually you adapted well!

    Organization and delivery were quite smooth as well, though it came as a slight surprise that each of you taught twice, once for the survey and the other time for the interview, so it was a fair distribution of content. Also, it was a great job comparing the two styles of designing questions at the end, to further reinforce and consolidate the facts—I still remember what was taught till now!

    Thanks for the effort in presenting such a memorable lesson. :)

  3. Hi to all,

    First and foremost, I would like to congratulate you guys for giving such an insightful peer teaching lesson. Not to mention the factor of fun being incorporated in this short time period of 30 minutes. There were also hand-outs given for people to refer. Truly remarkable effort and excellent team work. Well Done!

    Now, I would like to comment on the individual presenters, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses:

    @MAY: You have presented a very good image of a professional speaker to the audience. You were able to maintain a sturdy posture and gave good eye contact with the audience. That really gave a good impression of a confident speaker to listeners. However, I feel that for the first part of the presentation, you spoke a little too fast and possibly a variation in tone. I believed you were a little nervous back then. Nonetheless, for the 2nd part of the presentation, you were more relaxed and engaging. PLUS POINTS FOR THAT..!

    @ Alicia: You had good voice projection and excellent delivery with appropriate hand gestures. However, like May, I felt that you actually rushed quite a bit considering that there were not enough time for the audience to fully capture what was taught. In addition, I feel that the use of textboxes should not cover the words even though the slide is just highlighting an example. This is just my opinion on that. Nonetheless, like May, you have brought the level of engagement to a higher level at the class activity. Your cheerful side sort of overcame the kind of serious and solemn atmosphere in the class. The audience totally loved your energy level and activeness! KEEP IT UP!

    @ Shivam: Good voice projection and fantastic use of hand gestures. In my opinion, I feel that what was lacking apart from your oral presentation to paint a complete picture was the organization of your powerpoint slides. Firstly, I feel that the slides were not coherent with the title in the sense that the content and the title did not seem to tally. The powerpoint slide effects also were not coherent. Lastly, just one suggestion, the answers to the game could be provided on the slide just after the question once the answers have been revealed. Nonetheless, excellent job on your part!

    Thanks again for providing such informative lesson. :D

    Cheers,
    Sylvester

  5. Hi to all!

    Firstly, thank you for your fruitful presentation. It was really informative session. I know a lot better of how to conduct interview and make survey.

    @Group:
    It is very good that you all gave handouts. It make it really for us to follow what you are saying.
    Your slides are simple, but it is a little wordy making you read of the slides from time to time. I always prefer less words and more pictures on the slides.
    Your presentation speed is very good considering how much you have to cover. It is really a lot of information in such a short time. You pulled it off really well. Well done.
    The quiz session is a very good way to get people's attentions and at the same time very informative.

    @May:
    You voice is kind of soft when you present. Your eye contact is not very good. Also, you refers a lot to the slides which make it seems like you are a little unprepared. Nevertheless, your hand gesture and emphasis of words is very commendable.

    @Alicia:
    Your voice level, speed and pauses are very good. However, your voice is a little monotonous. Also, you refer a lot to the slides with a lot of reference to slides making you eye contact limited. Nevertheless, I like you enthusiasm and posture while you speak.

    @Shivam:
    I like you noise level, hand gesture, posture, speed and pauses. You also maintain a very good eye contact. However, you also refers a lot to the slides. Also, be careful not to fold your arms in front of your chest. It's a very defensive stance which could make audience uncomfortable.

    Other than that, it was a fantastic presentation. Thank you.

    Cheers,
    Billet

  6. Hello guys!!

    Thanks so much for the effort and time. I appreciate it.

    On the whole I felt your group gave us a good overview of the topic. Content wise definitely I would say nothing was lacking. However, I felt the outlook and flow of the presentation would be better if the speakers were allocated to just one portion of the presentation. From what I noticed, your group seemed to alternate between speakers. This can be somewhat messy.

    @May: Good posture and position when presenting. However, your speech was a little colloquial at times.

    @Alicia: Good voice projection despite your petite size! HA. However, I felt you were rather focused on the screen. Nevertheless, you still managed to incorporate eye contact in your presentation.

    @Shivam: I felt you gave the best eye contact among the three. You were well prepared and I could see your thoughts forming while you speak. Plus points for hardly refering to the slides!

  7. Hey people!

    Sorry for my late comment, but never too late to share. (I hope...)

    A great effort, with many interesting facts to note. One thing i think is a good job done was that the presenter stood on the opposite side of the screen. It draws the attention away from the other 2 presenters. However, I feel that the powerpoint slides animation could be omitted, as it caused quite a bit of distractions at some point.

    @Yuen May: I feel that you did a good job in presenting your points across. You were calm and used various tones to capture attention. There were a few times that you sped up a little, but slowed down again to a comfortable pace. Good job on that. One thing that I think you can improve on is your eye contact, as you tend to look all over the place when you are presenting. Other than that, good job.

    @Alicia: An impressive thing that you did a very professional presentation. Calm and smooth as you delivered. Good job on that. The eye contact was effective too. However, one thing that I would like to advise is your tone. During the activity and Q&A session, you suddenly had a "kiddish" tone again (forgive me if i'm rude). You might want to watch out for that so you can keep the professional image during presentation.

    @Shivam: I think you had a very smooth presentation. Good job on that. I think you delivery was good. I particularly like your entry "I always get the negative part". Good injection of humour. One thing I think that you can imrpove is your habit of folding your arms. It gives an impression of "closeness".

    nevertheless, good job team!!

  8. @Billet: Thanks a lot Billet to point out those things. I appreciate and accept them happily. :)

  9. @Elgin: I still do not know how that humorous statement came into my mind. I will surely improve upon that gesture which Billet has also pointed out. Thanks a lot.
